Travel Harps

Our 12 string Pocket Harps and 19 string Satchel Harps are incredibly durable and portable. They were developed for people who want to fly with a carry on harp that fits in a laptop computer case or standard carry-on suitcase and weighs less than 2-3 lbs. The sound box is turned sideways to allow for flatter packing and durability. Because they are a hybrid between a harp and a lyre there are many ways that they can be played on. Twelve or Nineteen strings is enough to allow fingering exercises and chord practice, as well as play some jaunty tunes.

Because of their smaller dimension the top range of strings is a little tighter for playing with all your fingers in standard “concert harp” position. Although it works great for using your thumb and first finger. For that reason we offer the harps with a standard right shoulder playing position stringing, or a left shoulder stringing so you have full space for use of your right hand to play in the upper register.
